 Have you ever wondered what cows think about? I mean, they don't really do anything or go anywhere. What in the world do they do to pass the time? Can they think at all? If so, I imagine it's something along the lines of "Gee, this grass is good - moist, sweet." Or perhaps "My udder sure is full. When's that guy coming with the bucket?" They must think something ... or maybe not. I'm no cow expert, just a curious person. If there are answers to these baffling questions, they're probably to be found with some veterinary subspecialist or animal behaviorist. I think what we need here is a good cow whisperer.

 Cows do seem to be very good at certain things, though. Do you suppose they could teach us something? Let's see. They're very good at chewing cud. Anyone out there looking to learn how? No, probably not. Me, either. Well, what about mooing? It's kinda cool. I have to admit there is a small part of me that would love to be able to open my mouth and make that big, full noise. Must be a use for that, but I can't quite place it at the moment. But now here's something - cows are exceptionally good at identifying their own group and sticking together. They never do seem to get mixed up about whether they're a sheep or a horse or a human, even if all those things are out there in the same meadow (are they ever all out there together? Oh well, that's not really the point). I don't know how cows do this. Is it by smell? Sight? Sound? Again, where's that cow whisperer?

 But maybe this is the lesson. Haven't there been times you really wished you could quickly find your "herd"? Maybe your church group at a big event? Or your cabin members at summer camp? Or the people who support the same candidate you do at a caucus or rally? Well, you probably can't smell them (okay, we all know a few, but let's not go there). Sometimes you can hear them ... or yell till you find them (Marco? Polo!). Hard on the ear drums and vocal cords. I'll pass. Besides, for the most part, we're really pretty visual creatures, aren't we? Wouldn't it be nice if the people you were looking for just stuck out above the crowd for you to see? Well, try this:
